Join Restoried Bookshop in celebrating the paperback launch of Asian American Is Not A Color by OiYan Poon!
OiYan will be joined in conversation by Jianan Shi. We are excited to host this event to start off AANHPI Heritage Month with a conversation that explores race, affirmative action, and family.
OiYan Poon is a Co-Director of the College Admissions Future Co-Laborative and consultant on higher education equity to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s office. Her book Asian American Is Not a Color: Conversations on Race, Affirmative Action, and Family has been recognized with Outstanding Book Awards from the Association for the Study of Higher Education and the American Education Research Association. She is also a parent rep on the LSC at her daughter’s school on the Northwest side.
Copies of the newly released, paperback edition of her book will be available for sale at the event. Don’t miss this chance to join us for an evening of community building and conversation!
