Let’s Talk Comics! With Wendy Xu and Bianca Xunise

Restoried Bookshop is excited to host Wendy Xu and Bianca Xunise to talk about their work and geek out over their comics! Join us Saturday, October 11th at 12pm to meet Wendy and Bianca, hear about their work, ask some questions, and maybe even get something signed.

We will have copies of their books available for purchase at the event.

Wendy Xu is a bestselling, award-nominated Brooklyn-based illustrator and comics artist.

She is the creator of INFINITY PARTICLE (2023, HarperCollins/Quilltree), TIDESONG (2021 HarperCollins/Quilltree) and co-creator of MOONCAKES, a young adult fantasy graphic novel published in 2019 from Oni Press. Her work has been featured in various places on the internet including Catapult, Barnes & Noble Sci-fi/Fantasy, and Tor.com. She loves obsessing over the perfect line, making matcha lattes, and art history.

Bianca Xunise’s work has been regarded as ‘gripping narrative[s], relatable situations, and evocative artwork with an aesthetic that oozes with late-1970s zine flair.’ With two Ignatz and an NAACP Award under their belt, Bianca enjoys being a voice for those who march to the beat of their own drum and hopes that their comics are comforting to those who feel like they don’t fit in. Bianca continues to bring rock n roll to illustrative life, collaborating with legends from Blondie to Bauhaus. When Bianca isn’t doodling away, they are usually at an underground DIY punk show dancing with friends by the Chicago riverside.
